About
Poggio dei Medici, which Fioravanti co-designed, was immediately recognized as Italy’s 'Best New Golf Course' and was nominated by Condé Nast Traveller as one of the top clubs in Europe, even outranking iconic courses like the K Club in Ireland.
Alvise Rossi Fioravanti is a respected Italian golf course architect whose work has helped shape some of Italy’s most celebrated modern courses. Best known for co-designing the acclaimed Poggio dei Medici Golf Club in Tuscany, which opened in 1992, Fioravanti partnered with professional golfer Baldovino Dassù to create a layout that closely follows USGA standards and showcases the beauty of the Tuscan landscape. The course quickly earned the distinction of 'Best New Golf Course' in Italy and has hosted numerous high-profile events, including multiple Women’s Italian Opens and European Challenge Tour tournaments, establishing itself as a staple of Italian golf tourism. In addition, Fioravanti has contributed to significant redesign and development projects, such as at Golf Club Verona, further enhancing courses for both challenge and playability. His architectural vision seamlessly integrates natural features and strategic elements, reinforcing his status among Italy's leading architects in contemporary golf design.
