About

Cabell Robinson was responsible for every Robert Trent Jones-designed course in Europe for nearly two decades before founding his own practice, shaping much of Mediterranean golf architecture.

Cabell Robinson is a renowned American golf course architect celebrated for his influential work across Europe and North Africa. After earning a degree in history from Princeton University and studying at Harvard's Graduate School of Design, he completed his landscape architecture degree at the University of California, Berkeley. Beginning his career under legendary architect Robert Trent Jones Sr., Robinson spent nearly two decades overseeing European projects, playing a central role in designing or constructing every Trent Jones course in Europe during that period. In 1987, he established his own design firm in Marbella, Spain, where he developed an impressive portfolio, including acclaimed courses like Finca Cortesin, La Cala, Santana, Valle Romano, and Aphrodite Hills. Known for prioritizing environmental integration and artistry over mass production, Robinson personally supervises every aspect of design and construction, ensuring each course is distinctive and memorable. He remains a highly sought-after figure in the Mediterranean golf design community.
