About

Weibring is one of the only golfers to design and renovate a PGA Tour venue (TPC Deere Run) where he also competed as a player.

D.A. Weibring is a renowned American golfer and accomplished golf course architect, celebrated both for his successes on the PGA and Champions Tours and his significant contributions to golf course design. Born in Quincy, Illinois, Weibring enjoyed a storied professional career, claiming five PGA Tour titles—including three victories at the Quad Cities event—and five Champions Tour wins. He later transitioned to course architecture and founded Weibring-Wolfard Golf Design in 1987. Since then, Weibring and his team have designed, renovated, or master-planned over 100 golf courses worldwide, notably including the TPC Deere Run, site of the PGA Tour's John Deere Classic, and TPC Las Colinas, host of the AT&T Byron Nelson Classic. His close ties to Illinois State University are reflected by the naming of the Weibring Golf Club in his honor, following the renovation his firm completed. Weibring’s career embodies a lifelong commitment to advancing the game, both on the course and through influential design.
