David Graham is one of the rare golfers to win professional tournaments on six continents, a testament to his international versatility and success.
David Graham is a renowned Australian professional golfer and golf course designer whose career spans continents and decades. Born in 1946, he left school at 13 to work in a golf shop and began his playing career as a left-hander before switching to right-handed on the advice of his mentor. Graham turned professional at just 16, gaining early success on the Australasian circuit before joining the PGA Tour in 1972. He achieved international acclaim, capturing two major championships: the 1979 PGA Championship and the 1981 U.S. Open. Graham's victories across six continents reflect his status as a global competitor, and he later excelled on the Senior PGA Tour. In course architecture, Graham partnered with Gary Panks from 1988 to 1997, designing notable courses such as Grayhawk Talon and Raven at South Mountain in Arizona. His contributions earned him induction into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2015, cementing his legacy both on and off the course.
