Dean Refram (1936–1991) was an accomplished American professional golfer who transitioned to a successful career as a golf course architect. Born in Miami, Florida, Refram attended Florida Southern College, where he was a standout member of the golf team. Competing on the PGA Tour through the 1960s and 1970s, he achieved notable victories, including the 1968 Robinson Open and the 1975 Walt Disney World National Team Championship. After leaving competitive golf in 1975, Refram focused on golf course design, primarily creating and shaping courses across Florida. Among his most recognized works is the original design of the Saddlebrook Course, later remodeled by Arnold Palmer, and the Pinebrook Ironwood Golf Course. His career in architecture reflected his deep understanding of the game and his commitment to enhancing golf experiences for players.
