Kevin Norby is a leading American golf course architect and principal of Norby Golf Course Design. A member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA) since 2015, Norby began his career in the late 1980s when he assisted Don Herfort on major projects, sparking a partnership that shaped his early years in the industry. Since 1990, he has played a central role in over 200 golf course design and renovation projects across the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean. Norby is recognized for his meticulous approach to master planning and his ability to modernize classic layouts while honoring the design intent of historic architects. His most notable achievements include the renovation of Golden Valley Country Club, originally designed by A.W. Tillinghast, and the acclaimed new work at The Preserve on Rathbun Lake in Iowa, which has earned national awards and recognition. Norby’s design philosophy emphasizes enjoyment, strategic challenge, environmental care, and long-term sustainability.
