Lindsay Ervin is a distinguished American golf course architect who began his professional journey in golf course design after earning a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from Purdue University in 1968. Early in his career, he served as an assistant to renowned architect David Gill, where he honed his skills from 1968 to 1973. Ervin later moved to Maryland, working with multidisciplinary planning firms before founding his own company in 1979. Over several decades, he has developed a reputation for creating picturesque, playable, and environmentally sensitive golf courses, focusing on minimal disruption to natural landscapes while ensuring profitability and player enjoyment. Ervin is best known for his work on acclaimed courses like Queenstown Harbor Golf Links, Hog Neck Golf Course, Birdwood Golf Course, and The Cannon Club.
