About

In one of his most hands-on projects, Mark Adam's design firm purchased an abandoned landfill near Paris in 1997. He and his partner then managed the construction themselves, transforming the site into the Golf de Saint Marc, which they still manage today.

Mark Adam is a Canadian golf course architect and a founding member of Adam Golf Design. After graduating with a degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Toronto in 1985, he gained experience working with golf course contractors in North America. In 1986, he co-founded the Fromanger & Adam Partnership in Paris, France.

Adam's notable projects include the Cely Golf Club, Le Domaine de Belesbat, and Haras de L'Ermitage in France. In a particularly hands-on project, his partnership purchased an abandoned landfill site near Paris in 1997 and, undertaking the work themselves, created and now manage Golf de Saint Marc.

His work extends beyond design; he also consults on course financing, promotion, maintenance, and management. The majority of his projects are located in Europe, Central, and South America, including Club de Golf Rocas de Santo Domingo in Chile. Adam also served as past president of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects (EIGCA) from 2004 to 2007.
