About
Sweetens Cove, Collins’ first project as lead designer, became a cult favorite, attracting celebrity co-owners like Peyton Manning, Andy Roddick, and Jim Nantz, and was described as 'Field of Dreams meets Tin Cup.'
Rob Collins is a prominent American golf course architect, best known as Principal Designer and co-founder of King-Collins Golf Course Design. After earning a BA from Sewanee: The University of the South and a Master of Landscape Architecture from Mississippi State University, Collins began his career as an on-site design associate for Gary Player Design, working on notable projects in Florida and Canada. In 2010, he partnered with Tad King to launch King-Collins Golf, initially overhauling a neglected nine-hole course in South Pittsburg, Tennessee – Sweetens Cove Golf Club. Under his creative vision, Sweetens Cove became internationally acclaimed, featuring in major publications and earning a place among the top 50 modern courses in the U.S. and the top nine-hole courses worldwide. Collins’ signature style emphasizes innovative, memorable design and challenging, enjoyable play. His first 18-hole design, Landmand Golf Club in Nebraska, further established his reputation, with tee times for 2024 selling out within hours. Collins continues to shape the modern golf landscape, drawing inspiration from the sport’s historic roots.
