While all four of Jack Nicklaus's sons grew up playing golf, Steve is the only one who did not turn professional. However, Jack has jokingly said that with Steve's handicap, he might be the "most dangerous" golfer of all.
Steve Nicklaus is one of the sons of golf legend Jack Nicklaus and an integral part of the family’s golf course design business, Nicklaus Design. Following in the footsteps of his father, Steve contributes to the innovative design and development of golf courses worldwide. While Jack Nicklaus is the founder and public face of the firm, Steve, along with his brothers Jackie, Gary, and Michael, bring their own expertise and perspectives to the company’s projects, helping maintain its reputation for excellence.
Steve Nicklaus’s work involves collaborating on new course designs, renovations, and ensuring that the golfing experience reflects the Nicklaus family’s philosophy of playability, challenge, and respect for the natural landscape. His input helps continue the legacy that began with the firm’s first project, Harbour Town Golf Links, back in 1969, and Glen Abbey Golf Club, Jack’s first solo design in 1976.
