Course Report
Bogogno's Bonora course uses nine of the original holes from Robert von Hagge's inaugural design, integrating wild nature and forested land for a natural parkland experience.
About
Circolo Golf Bogogno, designed by Robert von Hagge and inaugurated in 1996, offers 36 holes across two distinctive parkland courses set amidst the beautiful Piedmont foothills. With undulating terrain, notable water hazards, and panoramic alpine views, the Bonora and Del Conte layouts provide challenge and variety for golfers of all skill levels.
Caddie Tip
Strategic play is essential at Bogogno. Watch for water hazards—especially on approach shots—where aggressive play can quickly penalize a scorecard. Manage the undulating fairways by staying below the hole on fast greens, and don't underestimate the wind that can sweep in from the surrounding mountains.
The Main Challenge
The greatest challenge at Bogogno is the frequent presence of water hazards that require accurate shot placement, combined with thick rough and tree-lined fairways demanding precision. The undulating terrain throughout both nines punishes wayward drives and requires thoughtful club selection, especially in variable mountain air.
The Good
Golfers love the resort's scenic parkland setting at the foothills of the Monte Rosa Massif, with panoramic mountain views and tranquil forested holes. The variety and modern architecture of both courses impress visitors, and practice facilities and the relaxed clubhouse atmosphere are highly praised by international guests.
The Not So Good
Players sometimes mention that the rough can be punishing and some holes may feel tight due to mature woodland bordering the fairways. Drainage after heavy rain can occasionally be problematic, and at peak periods, the pace of play may slow due to popularity and resort guest volume.
Signature Hole:
#
18
The 18th hole on the Bonora course is a par 4 renowned for its picturesque closing view framed by the Monte Rosa Massif and lined with undulating woodland. Precision off the tee is crucial to avoid water and strategic bunkers, making for a memorable and challenging finish to the round.
Clubhouse
The modern clubhouse provides restaurant and bar service with panoramic terrace views, a well-appointed pro shop, locker rooms, and ample lounge space. Onsite accommodations are available, and the resort hosts special events and tournaments throughout the year.
Practice Facilities
Circolo Golf Bogogno features a large practice area with a 60-bay driving range, double training green, and a dedicated putting area for all short game needs. Target greens and chipping zones are excellent for warm-up and improvement.
