Course Report
Jinshi Golf Club is recognized as one of China's rare true seaside courses and was listed among the world's top ten courses shortly after opening.
About
Jinshi Golf Club, also known as Dalian Golden Pebble Beach Golf Club, offers 36 holes of scenic, seaside golf with the Divine Tortoise and Jinying courses designed by Peter L.H. Thompson and Zhu Zongying. Located near the Yellow Sea in the Jinshitan National Tourist Resort, it blends coastal and parkland features amidst hills and water.
Caddie Tip
Caddies are required and players should be aware of negotiations regarding caddie fees – expect caddies to ask for higher tips. Relying heavily on caddies for yardages is necessary, as yardage books are not available and many holes have visual tricks due to dramatic elevation changes and coastal winds.
The Main Challenge
The toughest challenge is dealing with swirling coastal winds and dramatic elevation changes, forcing players to constantly adjust club selection. The finishing holes play perilously close to the seaside cliffs, demanding accuracy and strategy to avoid severe penalties.
The Good
Golfers most appreciate the spectacular seaside holes that play along the cliffs and water, especially the dramatic elevation changes and panoramic views of the Yellow Sea, which give a sense of grandeur seldom found in China.
The Not So Good
Players commonly report issues with over-irrigation leading to wet spots and trouble finding accurate yardage information. Caddie interactions about tipping can be uncomfortable, and language barriers sometimes cause confusion during rounds.
