Course Report

Ocean Edge is the only Nicklaus Design golf course on Cape Cod, and the course is exclusively accessible to resort guests and members, adding a layer of exclusivity to its play.

About

Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club is Cape Cod's only Nicklaus Design course, offering diverse parkland-style golf set on 429 acres. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, it features generous fairways, dramatic elevation changes, and challenging greens within a luxurious resort setting, noted for its hospitality and scenic beauty.

Caddie Tip

Play conservatively off the tees—many holes feature fairway bunkers that punish long but errant drives. Focus on club selection for approach shots, as greens are well-protected by bunkers. Pay attention to wind direction on elevated holes, and read the undulating greens carefully for putts.

The Main Challenge

Navigating dramatic elevation changes and large, sloping greens is the toughest part of Ocean Edge. Several holes have strategic bunkering and require careful planning to avoid hazards. Gusty coastal winds—especially on exposed holes—add an extra test, demanding precise shot-making and course management.

The Good

Golfers consistently praise the high-quality design and beautiful conditioning of Cape Cod’s only Nicklaus Signature course. The generous fairways, artistic bunkering, and challenging greens offer variety for all skill levels, and the atmosphere in the resort and club is welcoming and enjoyable for both families and individuals.

The Not So Good

The main complaint from players is the play-for-guests-only policy restricting public access. Some wish for more flexible tee times or special access options. During peak season, rounds may experience slow play, and infrequent weather interruptions affect course conditions.
