Bill Bergin is a distinguished golf course architect, recognized for his strategic vision and detailed approach. After a successful playing career as a touring professional, including three U.S. Opens, two British Opens, and over 50 PGA Tour events, Bergin transitioned to design work following mentorship under renowned architect Bob Cupp. He founded Bergin Golf Designs in 1994 and quickly became known for layouts that blend challenge for skilled golfers with enjoyment for recreational players. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, his firm specializes in both new course creations and modern restorations of classic layouts, updating courses originally designed by legends such as Tillinghast, Raynor, Langford, and Ross. Bergin has directed and planned over 120 projects, with a portfolio spanning original designs and acclaimed renovations, predominantly in the southeastern United States. Notable projects include the transformation at Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Club in Florida and The Highlands and The Keep at McLemore Resort in Georgia.
