Bill Love supervised the comprehensive renovation of all 45 holes at the Olympic Club in San Francisco, including the Lake Course, the site of the 2012 U.S. Open.

Bill Love is a prominent American golf course architect with over two decades of experience and more than 100 projects completed across North America and internationally. Based in College Park, Maryland, Love founded W.R. Love, Inc., specializing in land planning, new course development, and the renovation of historic golf courses. Renowned for environmentally sensitive design, he authored "An Environmental Approach to Golf Course Development" for the ASGCA and has chaired its Environmental Committee for more than a decade. His work includes notable courses like Hunting Hawk Golf Club (Virginia), Cranberry Highlands (Pennsylvania), Iron Forge (Pennsylvania), and major renovations at the Olympic Club in San Francisco. Love also teaches course design at the University of Maryland and is a frequent lecturer on golf architecture and environmental stewardship. His influence extends through publications and leadership within several professional golf and landscape organizations.
