About

Brian Ault followed in the footsteps of his renowned father, Ed Ault, and together their family firm has had an outsized influence on public golf course design, with Brian overseeing projects not only across the United States but also in Korea, China, Ireland, and Canada.

Brian Ault is a highly respected American golf course architect with a career spanning nearly five decades. Brought into Ault, Clark & Associates by his father Ed Ault in 1973, Brian rapidly developed deep expertise in all phases of golf course design, including site evaluation, cost estimation, new course creation, and renovation of existing layouts. He became co-president of the firm in 1989 and has served as President of the American Society of Golf Course Architects. Brian has led the design or remodeling of hundreds of courses throughout the United States and abroad, with notable projects including Worthington Manor, the South Course at Andrews Air Force Base, and Wyncote Golf Club—named the third best new public golf course in America by Golf Digest in 1993. His work extends internationally to Korea, China, Ireland, and Canada. Brian is recognized for his meticulous oversight and has contributed expert testimony on golf course–related legal issues. He remains an influential figure through extensive industry engagement and frequent speaking engagements.
