Darius Oliver is a prominent Australian golf course architect, author, and course critic, recognized for his deep appreciation of classic golf design and significant contributions to modern course development. Growing up in Melbourne’s Sandbelt, Oliver developed a keen eye for layout and became a caddy at Royal Melbourne, planting the seeds for his passion in architecture. He began his professional journey in 1998 by co-founding ausgolf, Australia’s key golf website, and went on to publish influential books such as 'Australia’s Finest Golf Courses.' As an architecture editor for Australian Golf Digest and operator of the Planet Golf website, Oliver has evaluated world-class courses globally. His design credits include co-designing the celebrated Cape Wickham Golf Links in Tasmania and leading the creation of The Cliffs at Kangaroo Island, hailed for its dramatic cliffside holes. Oliver’s objective and encyclopedic approach has made him a leading voice in Australia’s contemporary golf landscape.
