J. Drew Rogers began working at his local country club's golf course as a teenager, performing various roles and playing competitive golf there, which set the foundation for his lifelong career in golf architecture.

J. Drew Rogers is a distinguished American golf course architect recognized for his commitment to classic design philosophies and environmental sensitivity. He began his career shortly after earning a BSLA from the University of Kentucky in 1991, joining Arthur Hills' renowned firm in 1992. Rogers quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a key player in the management of new course builds and major renovations, eventually making partner by 1999. Over nearly two decades, he collaborated with Hills on more than 30 new designs and 20 large renovation projects across the globe. In 2010, Rogers founded his own boutique firm, JDR (J. Notable projects include work at Oitavos Dunes in Portugal, restorations at historic courses such as the Old Elm Club and Country Club of Columbus, and several acclaimed renovations in the US. Revered for his 'less is more' approach, Rogers emphasizes blending traditional elements, promoting creativity in play, and retaining the soul of golden age courses.
