Jim Nagle is an accomplished American golf course architect, recognized for his specialization in restoration and renovation of classic golf courses. With nearly 30 years of professional experience, Nagle began his career with Forse Golf Design in the late 1990s and rose to prominence for his ability to revive the strategic and aesthetic intent of Golden Age designers. Throughout his 25 years with Forse Design, he worked extensively alongside Ron Forse, tackling major restorations such as Lancaster Country Club in Pennsylvania, host of the U.S. Women's Open, and collaborating on consulting projects like Davenport Country Club in Iowa. In 2024, Nagle founded his own firm, Nagle Design Works, to focus on independent projects and modernize his restorative approach. His recent commissions include the restoration of Dick Wilson’s NCR North Course and masterplanning for Eagles Mere Country Club. Nagle is known for his hands-on approach and his philosophy of blending classic design principles with modern playability, earning high praise for maintaining the challenge and enjoyment of traditional layouts.
