Ross Forbes is the founder and principal of Forbes Golf Design, LLC, bringing over thirty years of experience to the field of golf course architecture. Having decided on his career as a young boy, Ross earned his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Arizona and worked for several California design firms before establishing his own practice in 1992. His portfolio spans more than eighty golf course developments, renovations, and restorations across twelve countries and three continents. Forbes is recognized for his environmentally sensitive and historically respectful design approach, earning international acclaim for his work. As an avid student of golf architecture, he is a resource for golf writers, and authored 'The History of the American Golf Course.' His career began in New England, where he caddied and played junior golf, later returning to craft notable renovations like those at Island Country Club. Forbes is based in southern New Hampshire.
