Tim Lobb helped design the NEWGIZA Golf Club in Cairo, located near the Great Pyramids and built on an abandoned limestone quarry, which later opened to international acclaim.
Tim Lobb is a distinguished Australian golf course architect whose career spans more than two decades and several continents. Born and raised in Melbourne, Lobb was introduced to golf as a child and quickly became passionate about the sport, joining Riversdale Golf Club as a teenager. After beginning his career in Ted Parslow’s Melbourne office, he moved to Kuala Lumpur and then settled in Surrey, England. Lobb spent six years with European Golf Design before joining five-time Open champion Peter Thomson and Ross Perrett to form Thomson, Perrett & Lobb, creating acclaimed courses like Carya in Turkey and the celebrated NEWGIZA in Cairo, a project that became Thomson’s final legacy. In 2016, he founded Lobb + Partners and continues to undertake international projects and historic renovations, including notable work in Nigeria, Egypt, and the UK. Lobb is a Past President of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects and remains active in several leading professional organizations.
