Course Report
Adare Manor will host the 2027 Ryder Cup, marking it as only the second course in Ireland to stage this iconic event.
About
Adare Manor Golf Club delivers a world-class parkland layout redesigned by Tom Fazio in 2018, set amongst 800 acres of gardens and mature woodland on the River Maigue. The course blends natural surroundings, modern construction, and elite conditioning. It is a premier destination in Irish golf, recognized for hosting international tournaments and offering strategic, challenging play for all golfers.
Caddie Tip
Favor accuracy over aggression: the tree-lined fairways and strategic bunkering punish missed shots. On the 18th, lay up short of the water or hit a perfect approach to challenge for eagle. Putts are fast and subtly contoured; read slopes carefully and err on the side of caution on downhill putts.
The Main Challenge
The toughest challenge at Adare Manor is the strategic placement of water hazards and bunkers across several holes combined with fast, true greens that demand a precise short game. The closing stretch, especially the 18th, demands bold decision-making, making every round intense and memorable.
The Good
Golfers love the immaculate course conditioning, world-class greens, and the majestic setting flanked by the manor and river. The Tom Fazio layout has transformed Adare into one of the most exciting, playable, and visually impressive parkland courses in Europe, delivering a memorable golfing experience at every visit.
The Not So Good
The significant green fee makes Adare one of the most expensive courses in Europe, limiting access for many. Some players also mention the challenge can be overly penal from the back tees, with water hazards affecting several holes. Drainage can be an issue following heavy rain due to the parkland terrain.
Signature Hole:
#
18
The 18th is a par 5 renowned for its dramatic approach shot over the River Maigue with the manor house as a stunning backdrop. Water guards the green, making risk-reward decisions vital for those seeking a closing birdie. The picturesque setting and strategic demands make it the most memorable hole on the course.
Clubhouse
Expect luxury facilities including a stately clubhouse with dining, locker rooms, lounge, pro shop, and private event spaces. Exceptional food, attentive service, and elegant surroundings make it a favorite for members and guests. The bar and restaurant offer views over the course and the River Maigue.
Practice Facilities
The club boasts an expansive driving range, short game area, and dedicated putting greens using the same bentgrass as the course. Premium balls are provided, and the facilities match the elite tournament standard. PGA professional tuition and club fitting are available on site.
