Course Report

Bellerive is among the very few courses to have hosted the U.S. Open, PGA Championship, Senior PGA, and is set to host the 2030 Presidents Cup.

About

Bellerive Country Club, established in 1897 and located in Town and Country near St. Louis, is a world-renowned private club known for hosting major championships. With a course redesigned by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and renovated by Rees Jones, its bold bunkering, winding creek, and large undulating greens deliver a championship-caliber experience.

Caddie Tip

Control off the tee is paramount—position your drives to avoid the numerous creeks that wind through the course. Favor approaches to the safe side of the large, tiered greens, which can be extremely fast during tournament conditions. Always check the wind before committing to your line.

The Main Challenge

Bellerive's true test comes from its length, heavy bunkering, and creeks that run through nine holes. The large, fast greens demand precise approach shots, and the closing stretch, especially the back nine, requires power and accuracy under pressure.

The Good

Golfers love Bellerive’s impeccable tournament-level conditions and classic layout with a modern championship feel. Its history, architectural pedigree, and strong challenge consistently make rounds memorable, especially when walking the same fairways as legends of the game.

The Not So Good

Some members mention that rough height and water hazards can lead to a slow pace of play, especially during busy times. Others point to the course’s flat terrain as being less visually distinctive than top courses with more dramatic landforms.

Signature Hole:

#

4

No items found.

The par-5 4th hole tempts longer hitters to carry the left fairway bunker and set up a shot at the green in two. Players who lay up must navigate a well-protected putting surface, and the creek running through the hole provides both strategic and visual challenge.

Clubhouse

No items found.

The elegant clubhouse offers multiple dining rooms, private event spaces, full-service locker rooms, a golf shop, and extensive member-only amenities—including tennis, fitness, and social facilities in a classic, exclusive environment.

Practice Facilities

No items found.

Bellerive features a state-of-the-art double-sided driving range, short-game practice areas, and putting greens maintained to championship standards, providing ideal conditions to hone every part of your game before playing.
