Course Report

Blessings hosted both the men's and women's NCAA Division I Golf Championships in 2019, where both collegiate team and individual champions were crowned.

About

Blessings Golf Club is a private, challenging 18-hole course near Fayetteville, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. and opened in 2004. Known for dramatic elevation changes, forced carries, deep ravines, and large undulating greens, Blessings is regarded as one of the toughest courses in the United States and hosts the University of Arkansas golf teams.

Caddie Tip

Always check the wind direction on every tee, as the dramatic elevation changes and open routing mean that even short holes can play long or require different clubs than expected. Favor the safe side of every fairway and approach, as many greens run off sharply or have severe slopes penalizing missed targets.

The Main Challenge

The greatest challenge at Blessings is its relentless combination of length, elevation, and precision demands. Ravines, forced carries, and undulating greens require careful strategy on every shot. Even accomplished players find the back nine, with tricky par 3s and sidehill lies, a stiff examination of both skill and course management.

The Good

Golfers love Blessings' dramatic layout, featuring abundant elevation changes, risk-reward holes, and several visually stunning tee shots. The outstanding practice facility, championship pedigree, and exclusive setting make it a coveted destination for competitive play and aspirational golf experiences.

The Not So Good

Some players find the difficulty and forced carries daunting, and the challenging walk through hilly terrain can be punishing, especially in summer heat. More forward tee options and improved course signage for first-time visitors could help ease the burden for less experienced players.

Signature Hole:

#

18

The closing 18th is a par 4 that demands both length and precision. Players face a daunting tee shot over water with a challenging approach to a well-protected green, framed by bunkers and dramatic terrain. The hole's panoramic views and championship setting create a memorable finish, frequently cited by visitors and championship competitors alike.

Clubhouse

The modern clubhouse, designed by Marlon Blackwell, offers a full restaurant, lounge, pro shop, well-appointed locker rooms, and a swimming pool. Natural design elements, abundant space, and attentive staff make it a comfortable retreat for members and tournament participants.

Practice Facilities

Blessings features a world-class practice center used by the University of Arkansas teams, with a large driving range, extensive short-game area, indoor/outdoor hitting bays, and a 40-yard indoor chipping/pitching space.
