Course Report

Chapelco is the first golf course in Argentina designed by the Jack Nicklaus and Jack Nicklaus II team and regularly hosts the PGA Tour Latinoamérica's Neuquen Classic.

About

Chapelco Golf Club, designed by Jack Nicklaus and Jack Nicklaus II, is set in the striking Patagonian Andes near San Martín de los Andes. This acclaimed 18-hole, par-72 layout integrates beautifully with the mountain scenery and offers a unique challenge for golfers of every level. The resort consistently wins awards and hosts the PGA Tour Latinoamérica Neuquen Classic.

Caddie Tip

Play conservatively off the tee on the signature 12th to avoid water and waste area trouble; focus on positioning to set up the best approach angle to the rapid, sloping greens. Mountain air can add surprising carry distance, so factor elevation and wind, especially on exposed holes.

The Main Challenge

The main challenge comes from strategic bunker placement, deep rough, and elevated, slick greens. Frequent wind, the rolling Patagonian terrain, and forced carries over natural hazards place a premium on accuracy and distance control, especially on the inward nine.

The Good

Golfers praise the course for its flawless integration with the breathtaking Andean landscape, creative design by the Nicklaus team, and memorable signature holes. The tranquil mountain setting and immaculate greens make play here stand out, and many consider it the best in Patagonia.

The Not So Good

Some guests comment on practice facility size and limited on-course food service options, especially during less busy periods. Occasional windy and wet conditions can add to challenge and slow play.
