Course Report

Golfclub Broekpolder is a founding member of the 'Oude Negen', the group of the Netherlands’ nine most prestigious historic clubs.

About

Golfclub Broekpolder is an 18-hole parkland course designed by Frank Pennink in 1981. Located just west of Rotterdam, the layout features open fairways and distinct water hazards, set in a reclaimed Dutch polder landscape. The club is a member of the prestigious 'Oude Negen' and has undergone significant greens reconstruction in recent years.

Caddie Tip

Be strategic with your approach shots on water-surrounded holes and favor conservative club choices off the tee, as the flat, open terrain exposes play to wind. Take note of local rules around water hazards and bunker placement, and pay attention on the approach to the final holes as they play toward the welcoming terrace.

The Main Challenge

Broekpolder’s greatest challenge comes from its frequent water hazards and the demanding, open nature of the polder layout. Gusts can be significant, especially on exposed holes, and approach shots often contend with both water and strategic bunkering. Wind management and shot control are pivotal for scoring well.

The Good

Golfers appreciate Broekpolder's peaceful setting just outside Rotterdam, with expansive views and open fairways, plus challenging water hazards and consistent course maintenance. The modern, rebuilt greens and variety of holes provide an enjoyable and fair test suitable for a wide range of skill levels.

The Not So Good

Some players note that stretches of flat, exposed terrain can feel repetitive, and wind plays a frequent role in shot selection. Early season play may face softer fairways due to polder conditions. Buggies are limited to those with medical needs, which may impact some guests.
