Course Report

The Pink Course’s 10th hole features bunkers cleverly arranged to spell out 'AGN,' the initials of its designer, Australian golf legend Greg Norman.

About

Real Club de Golf El Prat (Pink Course), located just outside Barcelona, is a standout Greg Norman design established in 2003. The course weaves through beautiful Catalonian countryside, combining strategic layouts, large and subtly contoured greens, and dramatic fairway plunges. The Pink Course is widely regarded as one of Norman’s best designs in Europe, regularly hosting major tournaments.

Caddie Tip

Focus on precision over power throughout the round—especially on the tight, technical front nine, where off-line drives can quickly lead to trouble. For the 6th (signature) hole, commit to a full carry onto the green, as anything short or offline will leave you a challenging recovery from deep bunkers.

The Main Challenge

The toughest aspect of the Pink Course is its exacting tee-to-green test, especially on holes such as the par-3 6th and uphill 17th. Wayward drives are harshly penalized by bunkers, trees, or run-offs, and the subtly contoured greens make putting a serious challenge, even after a well-played approach.

The Good

Golfers love the Pink Course’s strategic diversity, well-conditioned fairways and greens, and remarkable ability to test every aspect of their game. The course’s blend of bold Norman shaping, memorable par 3s, and Catalan scenery make for an experience that stands out even among Spain’s best.

The Not So Good

Some players find the penal rough and hazard placement very demanding, leading to high scores on errant shots. Additionally, the course can get busy during peak periods, resulting in slower play. Occasionally, greens can be quite firm and difficult to hold without precise approach shots.

Signature Hole:

#

6

The signature 6th hole is a long par 3 featuring a volcano-shaped green encircled by a large waste bunker. Any shot missing the target bounds away, demanding exceptional precision off the tee. Its striking design and daunting challenge have made it the highlight of the Pink Course and a lasting memory for visiting golfers.
