About

Shadow Ridge Country Club is a private, family-oriented golf club in West Omaha, Nebraska, originally designed by Tom Sieckmann and later renovated by Jackson Kahn Design. The 18-hole, par-72 course winds through a premier residential community and features well-maintained bentgrass greens and fairways, offering a challenging yet enjoyable experience for all levels. The club offers extensive amenities and year-round activities.

Caddie Tip

Respect the subtle slopes on the fast bentgrass greens—putts break more than they appear, and approach shots below the hole are rewarded. The course winds through residential areas so accuracy off the tee is key, and thoughtful club selection sets up easier approaches, especially with shifting Nebraska winds.

The Main Challenge

The toughest challenges are presented by tight driving corridors on several holes and undulating greens with deceptive breaks. When the wind is up, club selection becomes critical, especially on longer par 4s and 5s. The back nine is known for its blend of risk-reward options and demanding finishing stretch.

The Good

Golfers especially love the overall conditions at Shadow Ridge, with bentgrass fairways and greens providing a consistently smooth playing surface. The course is praised for its private, family-oriented atmosphere, strong sense of community, variety in the layout, and attentive professional staff. Members also highlight the quality practice facilities, resort-style pool, and elegant clubhouse amenities.

The Not So Good

Some regulars mention that parts of the course can play tight due to encroaching residential areas and that windy conditions can make several holes challenging. Others have suggested course signage and routing could be clearer for guests, and expanded tee time availability would enhance the experience.
