Course Report
Sky Lake’s Lake Course was voted the most challenging golf course in Vietnam shortly after opening, and it is one of Vietnam’s longest layouts.
About
The Lake Course at Sky Lake Resort & Golf Club near Hanoi was designed by Ahn Moon Hwan and opened in 2012. Renowned for its length, stunning elevation changes, and panoramic lake views, it delivers a demanding championship test for skilled golfers. Its mountain and lake setting provides exceptional scenery and a tranquil escape from the city.
Caddie Tip
On several holes with dramatic elevation changes, club selection is critical—trust the yardage, not just your eyes. On the Lake Course, focus on precise play around greens with Turtleback contouring and be wary of aggressive lines over water, especially on the closing stretch.
The Main Challenge
The Lake Course’s length and array of water hazards combine with dramatic elevation changes and Turtleback greens, providing a relentless test from the championship tees. Approach shots demand precision, and aggressive play can quickly result in lost balls, especially in strong wind conditions.
The Good
Golfers consistently praise the impeccable conditioning and spectacular lake and mountain vistas throughout the Lake Course, particularly for its championship challenge and tranquil environment that feels miles away from Hanoi.
The Not So Good
Golfers sometimes note slower pace of play on busy weekends and that the course’s severe length and elevation changes can be taxing for those walking. Also, some wish for improved bilingual signage and more English-speaking staff.
