Course Report

The course was privately designed and built by Jeff Osterfeld, who founded Penn Station East Coast Subs.

About

Stonelick Hills Golf Club is a forested parkland-style public course designed by Jeff Osterfeld, offering a serene, golf-only environment with challenging holes wrapped by lakes and wildlife. Known for excellent conditions, varied hole layouts, and friendly service, it's considered one of Ohio’s top daily fee courses.

Caddie Tip

Favor accuracy over power on the water-protected holes, especially the 9th and 18th. Keep approach shots below the hole for easier putts; prepare for plenty of risk-reward opportunities. The large, rolling greens require thoughtful lag putting, and carrying extra balls is wise due to numerous lakes.

The Main Challenge

Water hazards play a big role on multiple holes, particularly the two par 5s (#9 and #18) with lakes protecting the greens. Strategic shot-making is crucial, and the generous fairways can lull golfers into risky approaches. Fast bentgrass greens and frequent wind present further tests.

The Good

Golfers rave about the varied, memorable holes and outstanding layout. The natural setting offers a tranquil experience accompanied by abundant wildlife and scenic lakes. The course delivers a country club atmosphere through attentive staff, high-maintenance standards, and a welcoming clubhouse.

The Not So Good

Peak times can get busy, leading to slower play. Some players wish for improved drainage in wet conditions and more consistent sand quality in bunkers. Price is considered high for the region by some, especially on weekends, but most believe the value is strong overall.
