Course Report

TPC River’s Bend is an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary and has hosted events for the Champions Tour, Web.com Tour, and, starting in 2024, the LPGA’s Kroger Queen City Championship.

About

TPC River’s Bend, designed by Arnold Palmer, is a private 18-hole championship course located northeast of Cincinnati. It features 7,180 yards winding along hardwood corridors, streams, and waterfalls. With a focus on natural beauty, playability, and excellent facilities, the course is known for its scenic layout, challenging holes, and professional-grade practice amenities.

Caddie Tip

Water is a factor on six holes, so pay close attention to tee placement and layup distances. The greens are large with subtle contours, making approach shot position vital. On the signature 9th, favor the left side to avoid the pond but don’t overshoot the green, as recovery is tough here.

The Main Challenge

The course’s most persistent challenge lies in its water hazards and large, well-bunkered greens that penalize wayward approach shots. Tough doglegs and elevation changes require precise club selection and course management. Expect a stiff test of nerves, particularly on the inward stretch.

The Good

Golfers most appreciate the course’s tranquil setting along the Little Miami River, its natural integration with mature hardwoods and water features, and the consistently high-quality greens and fairways. Many note the variety and challenge from each set of tees, and the impressive practice facilities and upscale clubhouse.

The Not So Good

Common complaints revolve around pace of play during peak weekends and the challenge posed by residential housing bordering some holes, which can detract from the otherwise immersive golf experience. Some visitors wish for increased public accessibility or more open member policies.
