Course Report

The Tournament Course at Vasatorp was voted Sweden’s best golf course three consecutive years (2015-2017) at the World Golf Awards, highlighting its reputation and quality.

About

Vasatorp Golf Club's Tournament Course, designed by Arthur Hills and opened in 2008, is renowned for its challenging inland links character with generous fairways and tough, undulating greens. Frequently ranked among Sweden’s very best, it offers a championship-caliber challenge for amateurs and professionals and has hosted several major tournaments.

Caddie Tip

Emphasize smart approach play to the undulating greens; bail out long on riskier pins, as the surrounds can be punishing. Strategic tee placement is key—play for position and avoid compounding errors if you miss the wide fairways. Expect brisk greens and stay below the hole on approach.

The Main Challenge

The undulating greens and deep, strategically placed bunkers make approach shots the most demanding part of the Tournament Course. The closing stretch, especially holes 16–18, present a stern test from tee to green, often determining the outcome of a match.

The Good

Golfers praise the Tournament Course for its world-class layout and strategic diversity, especially the Arthur Hills design, offering a great balance of playability and challenge. The practice facilities are expansive and the staff consistently receives high marks for service and hospitality.

The Not So Good

Some guests wish for greater on-course signage and clearer directional markers, as navigation between holes can be slightly confusing for first-time visitors. Occasional wet conditions in the lower-lying fairways after heavy rains have been noted.
