Fred Couples, born in 1959 in Seattle, Washington, is an acclaimed American professional golfer and prominent golf course architect. Celebrated for his effortless swing and nickname 'Boom Boom'—honoring his long, accurate drives—Couples turned pro in 1980 and claimed dozens of tournament victories, including the prestigious Masters Tournament in 1992 and two Senior Majors. As a former world number one, his playing career included Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup participation, as well as induction into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2013.
