Jeff Brauer is a renowned American golf course architect who began his career in his native Chicago before establishing his own firm, Jeffrey D. Brauer/GolfScapes, in Arlington, Texas. A graduate of the University of Illinois with a degree in landscape architecture, Brauer has designed more than 50 new courses and remodeled over 80 others nationwide, including notable projects such as The Quarry at Giant’s Ridge in Minnesota, Cowboys Golf Club in Texas, Colbert Hills in Kansas, and Wild Wing Plantation’s Avocet Course in South Carolina. His innovative designs blend classic architectural techniques with modern functionality, influenced by legendary designers like Alister MacKenzie and C.B. Raynor. Brauer’s careful attention to bunker design and strategic layout has made his courses both visually striking and highly playable. Throughout his career, he has worked with top PGA Tour players and contributed extensively to golf architecture literature, serving as a columnist and author of educational resources for the industry. Brauer is a past president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects and currently serves as its Director of Outreach.
