Ron Prichard is an esteemed American golf course architect renowned for his expertise in the restoration of classic golf courses, particularly those originally designed by Donald Ross. Inspired by traditional architecture early on as a caddie in New Jersey, Prichard’s design philosophy emphasizes simplicity and functional beauty, influenced by legendary architects such as Ross, Seth Raynor, and A.W. Tillinghast. After graduating from Middlebury College, where he played varsity golf, and serving in the U.S. Army, Prichard began his career designing and restoring courses across the United States. He was the lead architect of TPC Southwind in Memphis and has been responsible for over 20 new courses and more than 60 significant restorations, including Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania and Charlotte Country Club in North Carolina. Prichard is celebrated for his meticulous work in reviving historic layouts to their original glory, helping to elevate the reputation and ranking of numerous clubs.
