Scott Hoffman began his journey to golf course architecture at age 10 by drawing golf holes in church bulletins.
Scott Hoffman is a respected golf course architect and Omaha native known for his innovative and strategic design work. His passion for golf began as a child, sketching golf holes in church bulletins before becoming an accomplished junior golfer at Omaha Westside High School and winning the 1987 Nebraska Junior Amateur. Hoffman played collegiate golf at both the University of Nebraska and Creighton University, and after graduation, joined Landscapes Unlimited under Bill Kubly. He spent five years learning the business before working over a decade with acclaimed architect Tom Fazio, contributing to notable U.S. projects such as Gozzer Ranch Golf and Lake Club in Idaho. Hoffman's portfolio includes major sites like Scottsdale National Golf Club and the Dunes Course at Monterey Peninsula Country Club. Recently, he earned national recognition with the design of Lost Rail Golf Club outside Omaha, which was Golf Digest's runner-up for Best New Private Course in 2023. He is currently overseeing Mapleton Golf Club in Sioux Falls.
