Steve Forrest is a prominent American golf course architect best known for his long-standing partnership with the renowned Arthur Hills. Earning his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Virginia Tech in 1979, Forrest quickly established himself in the field by joining Arthur Hills and Associates, and later became a principal at Arthur Hills / Steve Forrest and Associates in 1999. Over his decades-long career, Forrest has been deeply involved in all phases of golf course design, master-planning, and renovation, contributing to both domestic and international projects. His design philosophy emphasizes creating challenging yet playable layouts that highlight the natural beauty of each site. Notable international projects include Hills Golf Club and Sand Golf Club in Sweden, Oslo Golfklubb in Norway, Noria Golf Club in Morocco, and Forest Hills Golf Club in Russia. Forrest also served as President of the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA) for the 2007–2008 term and has overseen projects that have hosted professional and amateur championships worldwide.
