Course Report
The course utilizes two separate greens on each hole, a rare and historic design feature in Japan. This allows for different grass types and maintenance rotations, adapting playability to weather and season.
About
Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club, designed by Kinya Fujita in 1965, features 18 holes with two greens per hole—a hallmark of classic Japanese golf architecture. The course is renowned for hosting major events, including the PGA TOUR's Zozo Championship, and showcases a woodland setting with a thoughtfully balanced challenge for all levels of play.
Caddie Tip
Many holes are tree-lined with subtle doglegs and narrow fairways demanding precision off the tee. Pay close attention to green selection, as pin placements can change daily between two separate putting surfaces, affecting approach strategy.
The Main Challenge
The toughest challenges are the tight, tree-lined fairways that demand accuracy off the tee and precise iron play, especially with two different greens in play. Water hazards and deep bunkering enhance shot value and increase scoring difficulty.
The Good
Golfers love the meticulous maintenance of the course and the unique two-green-per-hole feature, offering variety and strategic interest. The history of hosting the Zozo Championship means it’s always presented in excellent condition, and the peaceful, wooded landscape provides a memorable setting.
The Not So Good
Some visitors have expressed a desire for more sweeping views and a greater sense of separation between some holes. Occasional concerns arise about weekend congestion and wait times during tournaments or busy days.
