Course Report

Access to Kings Island is via a short speedboat ride, adding a unique adventure to each golfer’s visit.

About

The King's Course at BRG Kings Island Golf Resort, designed by Jack Nicklaus and opened in 2018, is a modern, resort-style 18-hole course spanning 7,310 yards just outside Hanoi. Offering wide fairways, sculpted bunkers, and a setting on the expansive Dong Mo lake, it provides both playability for club golfers and a strong strategic test for experienced players.

Caddie Tip

Approach shots require precision due to large and well-defended greens—aim for the heart rather than tucked pins, especially on longer par-3s. On the 17th, take enough club as the wind can swirl above the open water carry. Trust your caddie for local knowledge of subtle breaks on the greens.

The Main Challenge

The toughest part of the King's Course is negotiating its deep, sculpted bunkers and water hazards, especially on long par-3s. Demanding approach shots into targeted greens require both length and precise control to avoid trouble, and breezy lake conditions can influence club selection and shot shape.

The Good

Golfers most love the spectacular island setting with scenic views of Dong Mo Lake, wide fairways that offer forgiveness off the tee, and the strategic bunkering typical of Jack Nicklaus designs. The blend of playability and challenge makes it appealing to a wide range of skill levels and keeps visitors coming back.

The Not So Good

Many golfers wish for improved halfway house service and more energetic or engaged caddie staff. Some note that green speed is often slower than international standards, impacting overall playability for those preferring faster surfaces.
