Course Report

Four holes are uniquely routed directly inside the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway, making Brickyard Crossing one of the only courses in the world to feature play inside a major auto racing venue.

About

Brickyard Crossing Golf Course, designed by Pete Dye, offers a one-of-a-kind golfing experience with four of its holes situated inside the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Routinely recognized among Indiana's best public-access courses, this unique venue combines exceptional conditioning, strategic design, and a memorable setting complemented by championship pedigree.

Caddie Tip

Position off the tee is crucial, especially on holes near the track where visual distractions and water come into play. Prioritize staying below the hole on Dye's firm, contoured greens. The rough is long and consistent, so avoid it when possible, and don’t let the racing atmosphere affect your focus.

The Main Challenge

The toughest challenge is handling strategic approach shots into subtly undulating greens that are well-protected by sand and water. The infield holes intensify pressure with narrower corridors and an unusual sensory atmosphere; wind and firm green complexes raise the difficulty on nearly every hole.

The Good

Golfers rave about the unparalleled experience of playing holes inside the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, surrounded by grandstands and the energy of motorsport history. The overall conditions, Pete Dye’s signature design elements, and the course's seamless blend of sport and spectacle create a truly memorable round.

The Not So Good

Pace of play, especially on the back nine, can be inconsistent and lengthy on busy days, with some reports of inadequate on-course marshalling and occasional lack of beverage service. Regular guests suggest better management of tee times and improved service during peak hours would enhance the experience.
