Course Report

The Links was completely renovated in 2012, bringing new greens and bunkering to update Pete Dye's original vision and increasing challenge across the layout.

About

Casa de Campo Links Golf Course, designed by World Golf Hall of Famer Pete Dye, is an inland layout featuring rolling hills, water hazards on five holes, and scenic resort vistas. Renovated in 2012, it offers a fun yet challenging test reminiscent of classic British links, framed by tall Bahia grass and sculpted bunkers.

Caddie Tip

Pay attention to subtle breaks on the greens, which can be more severe than they appear. On windy days, club up on the back nine and avoid the left sides of several holes, as the Bahia grass makes for tough recoveries. Play bump-and-run approaches to keep scores low.

The Main Challenge

The Links tests players with its elevated greens, thick rough of Bahia grass, water in play on five holes, and strategic bunkering. Finding the right angles into undulating greens and managing risk versus reward decisions on several holes challenges players to think and execute throughout the round.

The Good

Golfers love the unique shot values demanded by Pete Dye’s design, the creative routing, and excellent green complexes. The course’s rolling land and strategic bunkering offer a rewarding round for players of all skill levels, with picturesque scenery throughout and highly playable conditions that encourage repeat play.

The Not So Good

Some golfers note that the inland routing can result in higher heat and less wind compared to Casa de Campo’s seaside courses. At peak times, service at comfort stations can be inconsistent, and the course is sometimes overshadowed by the more famous Teeth of the Dog.
