Course Report

Corales hosts the only PGA TOUR event in the Dominican Republic, the Corales Puntacana Championship, drawing top players from over 160 countries each year.

About

Corales Golf Course, designed by Tom Fazio and opened in 2010, is a stunning 18-hole, par 72 layout offering 7,670 yards of dramatic golf along the Caribbean. Featuring six oceanfront holes and the famous 'Devil’s Elbow' finish, the course provides strategic challenges, world-class scenery, and has quickly become one of the premier resort golf destinations in the Caribbean.

Caddie Tip

Embrace the wind—almost every hole at Corales is exposed to sea breezes, especially on the closing stretch. Trust local caddie advice on aiming points and club selection, especially on ocean holes and the Devil’s Elbow finish. Misses short and left are penalized on the signature 18th, so take more club than you think.

The Main Challenge

The biggest challenge at Corales comes from the ever-present winds and the dramatic closing trio of holes—the Devil’s Elbow. Especially 16–18, where swirling winds, forced carries, and rocky coastal cliffs punish any misjudged shot. Mere accuracy is not enough; confident shot-making under pressure is required.

The Good

Golfers rave about the spectacular coastal holes and the 'Devil’s Elbow' finish, especially the 18th, which delivers a uniquely memorable challenge amid dramatic ocean vistas. The combination of Fazio’s strategic design and breathtaking setting make every round both exciting and visually stunning.

The Not So Good

Some guests mention slow play during peak times, and there is occasionally feedback about high green fees relative to competing nearby courses. A few players note inconsistencies in service quality and wish for an upgrade in food and drink options at the clubhouse.
