Course Report

The Hills Course, along with the Olympic Course, opened in 2022 and instantly placed Costa Navarino among Europe's largest golf resorts, featuring four signature layouts in one destination.

About

The Hills Course at Costa Navarino, designed by José María Olazábal and opened in 2022, is set among rolling hills above the Ionian coastline in Messinia. Playing over 6800 yards, it offers golfers narrow, undulating fairways, smaller greens, and panoramic views. Shared facilities with the renowned International Olympic Academy course ensure first-class amenities.

Caddie Tip

The undulating fairways and elevation changes make club selection and distance control critical, especially on approach shots. Stay below the hole on uphill greens and play conservatively off the tee to avoid trouble along tree-lined fairways. Watch for swirling winds on the higher holes and take in the elevated views.

The Main Challenge

The most challenging aspect of The Hills Course is managing the elevation changes and wind, especially on the back nine. Narrow fairways and smaller greens require accurate approaches, while the undulating terrain punishes poorly placed drives and missed greens. Shot strategy is essential throughout your round.

The Good

Golfers praise The Hills Course for its peaceful, secluded atmosphere and notable elevation changes, which offer panoramic views across Messinia. The well-maintained fairways, excellent bunkering, and smaller, fast greens provide strategic interest. Its modern clubhouse and full resort amenities further enhance the overall experience.

The Not So Good

Some guests note that the secluded hilltop setting leads to windy conditions and occasional accessibility challenges, particularly with walking. Others mention that the course, while impressive, lacks unique natural landmarks compared to coastal layouts, and the finishing stretch could provide more dramatic risk-reward holes.
