Course Report
The club hosts both a traditional 18-hole championship course and the Harry Pitt Executive Nine, providing a unique dual-course member experience.
About
Manor Country Club in Rockville features an 18-hole championship course originally designed by William Flynn and renovated by Arthur Hills. Known for its firm and fast bentgrass greens and lush bentgrass fairways, it offers a challenging, well-conditioned parkland layout with five sets of tees, a rich competitive tradition, and extensive practice facilities.
Caddie Tip
Carefully study approach shots as firm, fast bentgrass greens often repel poorly struck balls. Playing to the proper side of the fairway is key for the best angles, and short game precision is rewarded throughout, especially with quick putting surfaces.
The Main Challenge
The course demands accuracy off the tee with mature trees lining many fairways. Fast, slippery greens create short game pressure, and tight approach angles make recovery challenging if you miss greens in regulation. Scoring well requires disciplined course management.
The Good
Golfers praise Manor’s consistently excellent course conditions, speedy greens, and well-maintained bentgrass fairways. The classic design accommodates both casual and competitive play, and the welcoming clubhouse creates a true community atmosphere for members.
The Not So Good
Some members note that weekend pace can lag during peak competition seasons, and others seek more regular updates to the clubhouse and locker room facilities for a more modern experience.
