Martindale operated as a private club for 88 years before opening public-access tee times, and is lauded as having some of the best greens in Maine.
About
Martindale Country Club is an 18-hole, par-71 parkland layout in Auburn, Maine, established in 1921. The front nine was designed by Alex & Fred Chisholm and the back nine by Philip Wogan. Known for its pure bentgrass greens and diverse holes, the course offers beautiful views of Mt. Washington and the Little Androscoggin River. Modern amenities and continual improvements have solidified its strong reputation.
Caddie Tip
Stay below the hole on approach shots, especially on the 11th green, where putts from above can easily get away. The course rewards careful strategy off the tee; don't automatically reach for driver on every hole. Use the slopes to your advantage, and pay attention to changing wind conditions on the more exposed holes.
