Course Report

None of the par 5s at Muskoka Bay are routinely reachable in two, except the 14th hole, which tempts longer hitters with risk-reward options.

About

Muskoka Bay Club is an acclaimed Doug Carrick design located in Ontario’s Muskoka region. Set on 280 acres of rugged terrain, it features dramatic elevation changes, undulating fairways, and challenging rocky outcroppings. The course offers expertly maintained greens and a blend of challenge and playability, making it one of Canada’s top golf destinations.

Caddie Tip

Favor conservative lines off the tee to stay in play, as dense forest and natural hazards border many fairways. On longer holes, lay up to comfortable approach distances to avoid forced carries over valleys and wetlands. Fast greens reward thoughtful reading; aim below the hole when possible.

The Main Challenge

Muskoka Bay is most difficult for its frequent forced carries across valleys and over rocky outcroppings, demanding accuracy off the tee and well-planned approaches. The fast, contoured greens and natural hazards add to the course’s strategic challenge.

The Good

Golfers rave about the dramatic elevation changes and impeccable greens, as well as the scenic Muskoka landscape. The variety and challenge throughout the routing make for memorable shot-making and a visually stunning experience on every hole.

The Not So Good

Pace of play is a frequent concern, with five-hour rounds occurring on busy days despite staff presence. Some guests feel marshaling could be improved and customer service more attentive post-round.
