Course Report

Oxbow is the only course in a five-state area to offer a TrackMan Range practice system, giving members an advanced technology edge for training and fun.

About

Oxbow Country Club, located south of Fargo, features an acclaimed 18-hole course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and extensively renovated in 2019. The layout offers strategic interest with generously bunkered prairie holes and five teeing grounds for all levels. Members enjoy state-of-the-art practice facilities, modern amenities, and a friendly private club environment in North Dakota's Red River Valley.

Caddie Tip

The fairways are generous but watch for prairie winds and strategic bunker placement. Play cautiously off the tee and pay attention to pin locations, as putting surfaces are subtly contoured and demand precise approach shots. On long holes into wind, take more club and aim away from native, fescue-lined roughs.

The Main Challenge

Oxbow's greatest challenge lies in its length from the back tees and the ever-present prairie winds, placing a premium on solid ball striking. Deep bunkers and contoured greens demand confident approach play and a skilled short game. Well-guarded finishing holes heighten the pressure late in the round.

The Good

Members praise the exceptionally maintained course, playability for a range of skills, and outstanding practice facilities, including one of the top ranges in the Midwest. The Robert Trent Jones Jr. design offers scenic prairie views, fun shot options, and a friendly, inclusive membership atmosphere.

The Not So Good

Some members have noted the high winds common on the property, which can add difficulty, and wish for further maturing of newly planted trees around the course after the 2019 renovation. Others would like improved drainage in a few low spots and expanded weekday dining hours.
