Course Report
Pleasant Valley features 27 holes, with the Blue and Yellow nines forming the preferred 18-hole championship routing. The course is also known for its memorable Sunday brunches and family-focused amenities.
About
Pleasant Valley Country Club, designed by Joe Finger in 1968, is a private member-owned club offering a 27-hole, 7,100-yard championship parkland layout. Known for its tree-lined fairways, scenic lake views, and rolling hills, the course is a consistent fixture among Arkansas's top clubs and provides classical design features and year-round playability.
Caddie Tip
Play for the center of the greens, as approach shots from the rough can be tricky due to the mature trees lining many fairways. Positioning off the tee is key, especially on par 4s where overhanging limbs can block your second shot. Be mindful of changing wind conditions around the lakes.
The Main Challenge
Pleasant Valley’s toughest test comes from its mature tree-lined holes, strategic bunkering, and water hazards on several fairways and approaches. The finishing holes, especially on the preferred Blue and Yellow routing, demand precise shot-making and reward thoughtful course management.
The Good
Members most appreciate the scenic beauty and tranquility offered by the rolling hills and lakes, as well as the consistently well-maintained greens. The variety provided by three distinct nines adds to the replay value, and the welcoming clubhouse amenities enhance the overall member experience.
The Not So Good
Members and guests occasionally mention that bunkers can be inconsistent after heavy rain, and pace of play can slow on weekends due to the club's popularity. Some desire additional modern practice technology and enhanced short-game facility space.
