Course Report
Quivira Golf Club features more holes on oceanfront cliffs than any other course in Los Cabos, with dramatic stretches where both the tees and greens cling to granite bluffs high above the Pacific. This Jack Nicklaus–designed course is famous for holes like the par-3 6th and 13th, which are perched on scenic cliff edges and use natural terrain slopes to help kick balls safely onto the green. The routing also takes golfers past a historic lighthouse, Faro Viejo, at true Land’s End, providing not only spectacular golf but also a sense of local history and breathtaking views from every hole.
About
Quivira Golf Club, designed by Jack Nicklaus and opened in 2014, is renowned for its dramatic oceanfront location on the Baja Peninsula. With spectacular desert cliffs, panoramic ocean views, and immaculate conditioning, this resort layout offers a world-class golf experience for guests of Pueblo Bonito Resorts. Its rugged clifftop routing and strategic challenges have earned global accolades.
Caddie Tip
Play conservatively off the tee on holes near the cliffs—wind can be unpredictable. Trust yardages, especially in altitude changes, and favor the lower side of undulating greens. Save strokes by avoiding the dramatic bunkers that protect most approaches. When in doubt, ask the staff for local wind patterns and best aiming points.
The Main Challenge
The toughest aspect of Quivira Golf Club is its cliffside routing featuring dramatic elevation changes, strong ocean winds, and forced carries across rocky hazards. Errant shots are heavily penalized, and precise club selection is essential. The layout rewards strategic play but can overwhelm newcomers, especially on exposed waterfront holes.
The Good
Golfers consistently rave about the breathtaking ocean views from almost every hole, especially on dramatic clifftop stretches. The service is standout, and the variety of scenic landscapes—from desert to beach—offers a truly unforgettable round with picturesque backdrops only found at Land’s End in Cabo.
The Not So Good
Many golfers find the distances between several holes lengthy and overly challenging for walking. Cart use is nearly mandatory, but some wish for more shade and improved pathways to soften transitions. The greens, while beautiful, can be tough to read for newcomers unfamiliar with local grain and contours.
