Course Report
SentryWorld’s 16th 'Flower Hole' is among the most photographed holes in golf, featuring tens of thousands of flowers that are replanted each spring in a unique design.
About
SentryWorld, designed by legendary architect Robert Trent Jones Jr., is Wisconsin’s first true destination golf course. Debuting in 1982 and renovated in 2014, this 18-hole parkland layout is renowned for pristine conditioning and the iconic Flower Hole. The course delivers a strategic and enjoyable challenge for all skill levels and routinely appears in top public course rankings.
Caddie Tip
Keep your ball in play off the tee—SentryWorld’s generous fairways are inviting, but stay mindful of water hazards and bunkers. On the iconic Flower Hole 16, trust your yardage and don’t get distracted by the incredible blooms. Play approach shots below the hole: greens are pristine, but subtle breaks abound.
The Main Challenge
The course’s greatest challenge comes from strategic water hazards and architecturally placed bunkers, which guard landing areas and greens. Many holes require thoughtful approach shots and positional play. The greens, while generous, are contoured and quick—a test for all handicap levels, especially under tournament conditions.
The Good
Golfers love SentryWorld’s impeccable course conditions and the creative yet approachable design by Robert Trent Jones Jr. The highlight is undoubtedly the Flower Hole, making for a breathtaking, truly unique experience. The service and facilities consistently earn high praise, adding to the sense of destination and value.
The Not So Good
Some visitors mention cost as a concern, with green fees being among the highest in the region. Busy periods and high demand can also stretch pace of play, especially during peak times or major events. Walkability can be challenging due to stretches between holes, making a cart a practical choice for most.

Clubhouse
The modern clubhouse features the popular PJ’s restaurant, event spaces, locker rooms, a well-stocked pro shop, and hospitality areas. Indoor and outdoor seating with fairway views, catering, tennis courts, and on-site accommodation at The Inn create a complete resort experience for all visitors.
